Running For Cancer

Kaylee Half Marathon

Most of you know that a few years ago our twelve year old daughter was diagnosed with an advanced stage of ovarian cancer. After the initial diagnosis, the next few months were a blur of doctor visits, surgeries, chemotherapy, and lots of…closeness. I have never been so close to any of my kids as I was with my daughter during this time. If you have not followed this story, I encourage you to look at the series of messages at:

When you read these messages you will see the standard pictures of hospital beds and baldness. You will also see several pictures of recovery and victory. Our daughter, now sixteen, is continuing to work on her diet and exercise. We still regularly return to the hospital to see if cancer has returned but all of her tests have come back back cancer free. Praise God!

We have been blessed with great prayer support as well as terrific hospital support. Kaylee is currently being monitored by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. This is a wonderful facility for children.

St. Jude depends on fundraising efforts all around the country. Next month I will be running in the Chicago Marathon as a St. Jude Hero to raise money for operating costs of the hospital. I have already lost my mother and sister to cancer and I believe we all need to join in this fight. Please consider supporting this run with a donation at:

The journey continues!!

Have a Christ Centered Day!
