One last story before we close out the year. I was very excited to see Josephine and her mother as we walked the street by our school.
We first met Josephine in 2012 and I sent out a message with her beautiful smile telling about our desire to increase our commitment to growing the school in the community of Mathare. You can see she still has the same beautiful smile!
In 2013, we were able to give her mother a small loan to start a business making chapatis. Chapatis are like thick oily tortillas and are served with many, many meals in Kenya. She has been very successful with her business and has moved from cooking outside her doorway to a nice covered area in the market area of the street and has even hired an additional helper. Josephine and her mother are very thankful for the school and for the involvement of this ministry in the community.
These are real people with real needs. And to the extent that we can minister the love of God and lend a hand where possible, I believe we are having an impact. Thank you so much for your support, your encouragement, and your prayers!
Have a Christ Centered Day!
