Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, a day we set aside to gather together and express our thankfulness. This is not a global holiday, but each year I invite the world to join us in giving thanks. But the reality is that this has been, and continues to be, a difficult year. Many around the world would rather forget 2020 and find it extremely hard to be thankful.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Many circumstances create challenges for giving thanks. And yet we are strongly exhorted to find reasons for thankfulness.
Today’s message is extra short. I would like us all to simply take a moment to quietly consider the portions of life for which we are thankful. There is no command to be thankful for the specifics of sickness or death or economic turmoil; rather, we are told to consider the entirety of our situation and recognize God’s touch…and be thankful.
He is here! In the midst of the storm He is still moving. Let’s look for Him today and then learn how to truly give thanks in ALL circumstance.
Have a Christ Centered Day!
