The big news from Kenya this month is that we were finally able to begin construction of the school in the fishing village of Gudwa, on the shore of Lake Victoria. This is very exciting as we have been waiting until the land transfer could be completed. God’s Daily Word – Kenya is now an official ministry in Kenya; we own our first plot of land, and will soon have a school building for almost 100 children that we have been instructing for the last two years.
We do not yet have all the funds to complete this project. We could definitely use a little help! If you would like to donate to this project, you can do so though our donation page or through the mailing address at the bottom of every message.

In the message “The Great Cloud of Witnesses” I wrote about my one and only, very painful, marathon experience of ten years ago. I stopped running soon after that marathon and did not start again until last year. At the beginning of this year I decided to put a little more effort into training. Next month I will be running in the Nashville Country Music marathon, which is supporting St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital. For many runners, this is the rescheduled race from December which was canceled due to weather. Many of you supported my fund raising effort for the run in December; thanks so much. One additional note about this marathon; I will be attempting to qualify for the Boston Marathon! For my age group (55-60) this means I need to run the marathon in 3 hours and 40 minutes. My training has been going well and I believe I will be able to qualify.
