Sherry – The Journey Begins

8/6/09, Thursday: Our journey of traveling full-time began at 11:11pm as we left our drive-way in Lorena, TX. Our first stop was to be San Antonio, TX. In the hustle and bustle of packing to leave, Steve and I never got any dinner. At midnight we stopped in Georgetown to get something to eat. Since Wendy’s was closed (go figure) there happened to be a Wal-Mart (praise God) right next door.

The girls and I went in to scavenge for something healthy to eat. We grabbed a couple of individual ready made salads, fresh Italian bread, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Smoked Provolone Cheese, and Four Nectarines. Better than we eat at home, I must say. After taking a 30 minute break, to eat our yummy dinner, we headed down the road to S.A., TX. We arrived at Stone Creek RV Park in Schertz, TX after 3:00am (very tired and ready to get to bed).

A great big thanks to all those who came and saw us off and prayed with us in our trailer (thanks Pastor Kaul). We so appreciated it. What a blessing it is to have such sweet friends from our home church to be encouraging and praying for us.

8/7/09, Friday: We slept in a little and then went to visit friends for the day. After eating a yummy, home-made Mexican lunch (thanks Ivette C.) and catching up. Suzanne B. came over and she joined Ivette and I for a trip to Costco for my much loved Mocha Freeze.

Took pictures of all the girls (six of them) who dressed up and had a make-up session while we were away. Pictures to come later after I down load. Our three families decided to go to dinner out at Rome’s Pizza to have more visiting time and not waste time on cooking and clean-up. The sesame seed crust was a hit along with the VERY unique pizzas you can pick from.

An awesome day of visiting with some great friends came to an end with hugs and goodbyes.

Blessings,
Sherry T.

    >Sherry, Steve & Girls,
We are so sorry we missed knowing you were in the Schertz area. Would have loved to see you. In fact,we were talking about you on Wednesday with Al & Sherry. Our Terry was in the hospital at Stone Oak from Mon & Thur and they came by to see him. Talked about your traveling but didn't know you had begun. Our life has been hectic with many things. Anyway, would love to have you come and visit our church. We are building a new building and will have dedication on Sept. 20. If you are around we are officially inviting you. Service is at 10 a.m. Our name is Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship and we are located on the loop around town. Love you guys so much!
